Joseph Anthony Raia was born in Manhattan and raised in the New York Metropolitan area. He obtained a B.S. in Finance at Pace University, Lubin School of Business and attended the Delaware Law School, having been awarded his Juris Doctorate in May, 1988. Joseph was an associate attorney with Sunshine, Atkins from 1988 through 1991, when he accepted a position with The Rem Law Group of Hackensack, New Jersey. He opened the Law Firm of Raia & Faust in May, 1993, and the Law Offices of Joseph A. Raia in Englewood, New Jersey in 2005. Joseph concentrates on Immigration and Nationality Law, as well as Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Municipal Court Practice. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, while maintaining offices in New York City, Shenzhen, China, and Seoul, South Korea.
LENA KAMAL

Lena Kamal is an immigration attorney representing clients in New York, New Jersey and Michigan. Lena Kamal holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Wayne State University Law School where she focused on Constitutional and Immigration Law. She received her bachelors with High Distinction from the University of Michigan in Communications and Political Science. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She also served on the Lawyer’s Committee and as president of the Michigan American Civil Liberties Union- Oakland County chapter. In addition to being an immigration attorney, Lena Kamal is fluent in Arabic, has represented clients in cases involving civil rights, employment discrimination, and contract negotiations. She also works as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant, providing DEI and unconscious bias trainings, as well as trainings focused on employment discrimination.
Elizabeth graduated from Montclair State University in May 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Translation and Interpretation and a Paralegal Certificate. She has successfully completed an internship with the New York State Unified Court System gaining experience with court interpreting and an internship with the American Friends Service Committee assisting immigration attorneys with their practice. Elizabeth has been working in our office since January 2021.
